CAPITOL HEIGHTS, MD (March 26, 2025) – The Velocity Companies, a mission-driven leader in real estate development and investment, has announced a strategic partnership with H&R Retail, a nationally recognized retail real estate authority, to spearhead the next phase of leasing at Hampton Park – a transformative $250 million mixed-use redevelopment in Capitol Heights, Maryland.

H&R Retail, the largest firm in the Washington DC/Baltimore region exclusively focused on retail, brings extensive market insight and a robust roster of national retailers to the table. With Bradley Buslik and Bryan Davis leading the charge, the firm will advance retail leasing and curate a dynamic mix of tenants at Hampton Park to serve the growing community.

“We are excited to partner with H&R Retail as we continue to attract retailers to Hampton Park,” said Richard Solomon, Chief Operating Officer at The Velocity Companies. “Their deep expertise in the Maryland market will enhance our mission to create a vibrant, community-centered destination in Prince George’s County.”

Located along the Central Avenue (MD-214) corridor, Hampton Park reimagines the former 25-acre Hampton Mall site with almost 1,000,000 square feet of new, mixed-used construction. Anchoring the Blue Line Corridor, the development will be a cornerstone to the region’s economic resurgence and is poised to deliver long-term impact to residents, businesses, and visitors.

“We are thrilled to partner with The Velocity Companies, and eager to be a part of this exciting project that is leading the development renaissance in Prince George’s County,” said Bradley Buslik. “Retailers will benefit from the site’s favorable fundamentals, accessibility, and desired location.”

Touted as the gateway to Prince George’s County, at full build-out, the revitalized Hampton Park will feature:

  • 80,000+ square feet of new retail
  • 400+ market-rate residential units
  • A 120-room nationally branded hotel
  • 115,000 square feet of office space, including the future home of the Prince George’s County Health & Human Services headquarters
  • 55,000 square feet of central green space for various community, arts, and cultural experiences

Currently, approximately 35,000 square feet of retail space is available for lease. For retail leasing opportunities at Hampton Park, contact Bradley Buslik at bbuslik@hrretail.com or Bryan Davis at bdavis@hrretail.com.
