Garfield Antonio has expertise in site acquisition and project financing. He has spent the past 20 years in banking, brokering, construction and real estate development industries. He oversees the process that identifies and negotiates the debt financing which includes public and/or TIF financing, public grants, public incentives, and tax credits.
Garfield has comprehensive experience in real estate development project management from conception to completion, including accountability for site acquisition, zoning analysis and change, construction and financing to sales of properties; properties include residential, mixed use, multi-family, retail and affordable housing. He also has significant experience in economic development, and market analysis that ensures profitable and successful development efforts.
Before joining Velocity, he served as the CFO/Sr. Development Manager for a Leading Regional Community Development Corporation. During his time with the non-profit he developed programs for affordable housing, workforce program, for-sale and market-rate condominiums, as well as retail and commercial properties. These programs provided needed housing in one of the most real estate depleted neighborhoods within Prince George’s County, Maryland and Washington, D.C.
Garfield received his Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Business Administration at Delaware State University.
